Why we need your help…
Ellen Battell Stoeckel — who constructed the Music Shed on her beautiful estate in 1906 and began a musical tradition that would become the Festival we know today — created an endowment that has provided foundational support. However, that incredible gift contributes less than 30% of the funds needed to operate one of the world’s finest musical education and performance centers. While ticket sales provide additional support, we depend on gifts from music lovers like you to cover the greatest proportion of our expenses.
Your gift makes a difference not only for our audiences, but also for the Fellows who come from all over the world each year to study. Your support ensures that the art form we all love will continue to thrive for years to come.
All contributions to the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival–Yale School of Music are tax-deductible to the extent permissible by law. All gifts will be recognized in the Festival’s annual program book. Ways to Give
Annual Fund
Support the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival – Yale Summer School of Music with a gift to the Annual Fund. Your gift, no matter the size, will contribute to the Festival’s overall budget, support the study and performance of the music you love, and build new audiences for chamber music.
Fellow Sponsorships
Sponsor a Norfolk fellow and enjoy an opportunity to establish a friendship with an outstanding young musician. Sponsorship of one fellow is $5,000 for the summer. Please contactGeneral Manager Robert Whipple for more information.
Tribute Gifts
Tribute Gifts to the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival–Yale Summer School of Music provide a thoughtful way to honor someone special in your life, recognize a special occasion or event (such as a birthday, graduation, anniversary, or a simple thank-you), or memorialize a loved one or friend. Bequests and other forms of deferred giving are an ideal way to create a legacy that will help build our endowment and provide secure funding for future generations of young musicians and music lovers of all ages. What You Will Receive
Donor Levels and Benefits
All contributions $50 and above will be acknowledged in the annual Festival Program Book. In addition, each contributor at the following levels will receive:
Supporting Member $100 to $249
- First notice of concerts, subscriptions, and single tickets
- Recording of season highlights
Sustaining Member $250 to $499
All of the above plus:
- 0% discount on single tickets
- 20% discount on merchandise in the Music Shed store
Associate Member $500 to $999
All of the above plus:
- Complimentary coffee and a snack at Friday and Saturday evening concerts
Musicians Circle $1,000 to $4,999
All of the above plus:
- Invitations to post-concert receptions and special events
Leading Contributor $5,000 and above
All of the above plus:
- Named a sponsor of a Norfolk Fellow, with special opportunities to meet and interact
- Make a request — from reserving a pre-concert picnic table to arranging a tour for your guests — we will do our best to accommodate you!
