Emily Adams Bode Aujla founded her eponymous brand in 2016.  Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Bode Aujla moved to New York City after studying in Switzerland.  She graduated from Parsons School of Design and Eugene Lang College with dual degrees in philosophy and menswear design.

Her first Bode collection was a show of one-of-a-kind garments made entirely from antique textiles.  In 2018, she was the first female designer to show at NYFW: Men’s, which she followed with a debut runway show at Paris Fashion Week: Men’s, in 2019.  Bode showed its inaugural womenswear collection at the Théâtre du Châtelet during Paris Fashion Week 2023.

Bode Aujla continues to reinvigorate American fashion with her dedication to storytelling and preservation.  She has been recognized with numerous awards, including Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National Design Award: Emerging Designer (2022), CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year (2022, 2021), Woolmark Prize: Karl Lagerfeld Award (2020), LVMH Prize Finalist (2019), CFDA Emerging Designer of the Year (2019), Business of Fashion 500 (2019), GQ’s Breakthrough Designer of the Year (2019), and Forbes 30 Under 30.

BODE is an American luxury brand, founded in 2016 by Emily Adams Bode Aujla and defined by its dedication to storytelling, craft, and American history.  The brand’s collections are based on the conservation of textiles, technique, and memory. Each season is grounded in a specific, personal story, unfolding aspects of American culture and identity through an individual narrative.
