NORFOLK FESTIVAL GALA:
The Zukerman ChamberPlayers

Tickets are not available for purchase online.
Please call 860.542.3000 for tickets and information.

Three-time Grammy®-winning violinist, conductor, and music director Pinchas Zukerman has teamed up with four colleagues from Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra - including his wife, cellist Amanda Forsyth - to form this acclaimed ensemble featuring a formidable mixture of youth and experience. The ensemble has amassed an impressive international touring record of over 110 concerts and has performed and recorded with some of today’s most prestigious artists.

“Those who came to gawk at Zukerman got some great music-making in the bargain...this was a superb performance that lifted the listener out of everyday worries.”

Preservation Hall Jazz Band at the Music Shed
Thanks to the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the music of the Big Easy is alive and well, as demonstrated by the way this great band packs concert halls around the globe, including our own Music Shed. Add the hot sales and critical acclaim of its recent recordings, plus the sweet success of the Band's music in the hit movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and it's clear: New Orleans jazz, and this band in particular, are timeless. This is happy music with the unmistakable form and beat that came from the saloons, street parades and riverboats of turn-of-the-century New Orleans. Concert-goers are invited to bring their parasols and beads and strut their stuff in a Bourbon Street-style parade during the band's finale of "When the Saints Go Marching In." Order tickets early for table seating up front. The back of the main floor, as well as the sides and balcony of the Shed will have our traditional concert seating.
